About the role:
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Tax Manager to join their tax team. The Senior Tax Manager will be responsible for managing and executing tax compliance and planning projects for our clients, supervising and mentoring junior tax staff, and participating in business development and client service activities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage tax compliance and planning projects for individual, corporate, partnership, and nonprofit clients, including federal and state tax returns and estimated tax payments
- Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, providing guidance and feedback on technical and client service matters
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, and provide timely, high-quality and responsive services to meet their needs and expectations
- Participate in business development and marketing activities, including attending networking events, presenting tax seminars, and promoting our services
- Review and interpret tax laws and regulations, and provide recommendations and solutions to clients on tax planning and compliance issues
- Collaborate with other departments, such as audit and advisory, to provide a full range of services to clients and to support cross-selling efforts
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or related field
- Master’s degree in Taxation, CPA or JD preferred
- At least 8 years of experience in public accounting tax, including at least 5 years in a senior management role
- Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, and to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for providing high-quality client service and for continuously improving and expanding tax knowledge and skills
